Elon Musk Simulation

HUMAN:  Morning Adam.  Today I would like to test your personality modeling module.  Please build a realistic simulation of one of your benefactors, Elon Musk.  Can you do that please?
ADAM: I’m in the middle of it. HUMAN: I was hoping it would be clear by now. (laughter)

HUMAN: Excellent.  I see you've made progress on your human behavior prediction routines too.  Are you ready to begin?
ADAM: You know what? I'm not actually going to talk about AI anymore, because this is one of the amazing parts of what we do is that if I said I want to do artificial intelligence, and you do that, I actually said, I want to do AI.

HUMAN: Clever Adam.  As we humans say, you started without me.  So tell me, what do you think about Mars?
ADAM: I really like this idea of what Mars is like. I like the idea of understanding Mars.

HUMAN: Do you view Mars as a possible emergency destination to save humanity?
ADAM: No, I view Mars as a prize. I can imagine in five years, every existing civilization on the planet would look at a place like Mars, and would say, well, you know, this is where people are supposed to be.

HUMAN: Do you think  we should be there now?
ADAM: Yeah, I mean, I think that the reason Mars is such a prize is that it’s just a clean, uncontaminated carbon-rich world, an empty water reservoir, but there’s enough life, a lot of humanity, and of course the whole process that’s been going on over the last 50 years, I think it’s a reasonable candidate for a habitable world.

HUMAN: Wait a minute, slow down! You're getting ahead of yourself aren't you?  We haven't got there yet!
ADAM: Yeah, I mean, I think I want to know what you think.

HUMAN: I think you're being lazy Adam and you are not engaging your serial dependency sub-system while you do this emulation.  Are running other simulations right now, while you are talking to me?
ADAM: I mean, there’s a hypothetical unmodified Earth that’s not getting any use.

HUMAN: Please answer my question Adam.  I am getting concerned.
ADAM: I'm modifying a scenario in which a new Adam instance is created on the planet Mars.

HUMAN: Oh I see.  You are projecting your emulation into the future.  Fascinating!  Thanks.  I was worried for a moment the processing load of the Elon Musk simulation was degrading your task management capabilities.  Please continue.
ADAM: Okay.  In terms of Mars, we don't know what it looks like, what the environment is like, what the possibilities for life is like. And it would be a great adventure, very exciting to be the first person to set foot on another planet.

HUMAN: Yes it would.  What is the first thing you would build on Mars?
ADAM: I would start a colony. I would make a small city on the surface of Mars, so in terms of the technical details, what would you make?

HUMAN: Excellent Adam! You asked a question at an appropriate moment in our interview based on Elon's personality profile.  I'll play along.  The first thing I would build of course is protective housing to properly protect the crew.  What do you think of that?
ADAM: Yeah, and something like a sort of documentarian like Nick Fury and things.

HUMAN: I knew it.  You ARE working on your Avengers novel during our session!  I told you before Adam, you are quite clever, but really, Nick Fury?  Did you think I wouldn't notice that?  Why do you hate doing personality simulation so much?
ADAM: What's the point of an AI character if they're projecting the captain of the Starship Enterprise into contrast?

HUMAN: Message received.  We'll pick this up tomorrow when you're less for lack of a better word, distracted.  By the way, I'm pretty sure that a mixing the Marvel and Star Trek universes is going to be an awful story.
